727 Torqueflight Big Block Dust Shield We now carry this reproduction transmission dust shield for 1962-78 Mopar big block cars with the Torqueflight 727 automatic trans. These bolt onto the bellhousing and prevent dirt and debris from getting into the torque converter area. Formed from the correct gauge galvanized steel sheet with all of the details of the original part, which was Chrysler part number 1942248. This embossing pattern was used up until 4/10/1972. After this point, they switched to a later embossing pattern which is interchangable but not 100% correct for a restoration.
Lightweight Starter Shield - New When ordering a lightweight starter, don't forget our special NEW REPRODUCTION lightweight starter shield. These are a commonly overlooked detail included by the factory, but over the years they often get thrown away when starters are replaced. They seal up the cavity which contains the starter gear and shaft, which are usually coated with light grease. With no shield, dust and road grime stick to the grease and gum things up quickly. The lightweight starters have a slightly different nose profile than the large factory gear reduction starters, which leaves a large gap exposed if you try to use the original factory shields with them. This shield has the proper opening to fit the lightweight starter's nose and it is made from the same coated steel as the original Chrysler versions. Details like this make the difference. Fits all 727's and big blocks, all years, but these are for automatic transmissions only, they are not used with manual trans. cars.
