Limited Slip Differential - Helical Gear Style - Mopar 8.75"
We now offer our Helical Gear Style limited slip differential (commonly referred to as a "Posi") rear end. These fit Mopar 8.75" (8-3/4") rear ends only. The original limited slip diff's that our Mopars came with from the factory were called "Power Locks." They were made by the Dana Corporation, and used clutches and plates to deliver power to both rear wheels. This setup worked good, however over time, the clutches would wear out, start slipping, and the unit would require a rebuild. Later, Eaton would come out with a new style of limited slip using helical gears called a "Truetrac." This setup proved to be far superior to the older clutch type setup. Not only does it never wear out, but since the gears do not allow any slippage like the clutches do, it's much more efficient at transferring 100% of engine power directly to both wheels. We now offer this helical gear style limited slip diff (identical to the Eaton TrueTrac style) at a fraction of the price!
