Cams over .510" lift require a dual spring to maintain the correct spring pressure, as per Comp Cams recommendation. We carry these Dual Springs from Comp for all our Hydraulic FLAT TAPPET (non-roller) cams over .510" lift. Use these springs together with our 145-1003 Comp 10 degree Retainers, and our 145-1002 Comp 10 degree Locks for a perfectly matched valvetrain setup. These are for hydraulic FLAT TAPPET cams over .510" lift only, all hydraulic roller cams use a different spring. Due to the small inner diameter of the inner springs, these require using reduced diameter teflon type "PC" valve seals, use our part number 101-1049. Will not work with the stock black rubber type seals which are supplied on our Stealth heads, since they are too large of a diameter.
Hydraulic Roller Cams and Solid flat tappet cams require a specific dual spring (which is different from hydraulic flat tappet springs) to maintain the correct spring pressure, as per Comp Cams recommendation. We carry these Dual Springs from Comp for all our Hydraulic ROLLER cams and SOLID flat tappet cams up to .600" lift. Use these springs together with our 145-1003 Comp 10 degree Retainers, and our 145-1002 Comp 10 degree Locks for a perfectly matched valvetrain setup. Due to the small inner diameter of the inner springs, these require using reduced diameter teflon type "PC" valve seals, use our part number 101-1049, as well as Comp's special inner spring locator shims, our part number 145-1015. Will not work with the stock black rubber type seals which are supplied on our Stealth heads, since they are too large of a diameter.
Our performance valve springs are a single spring with damper design that feature about 130 pounds on the seat and 330 open. They work great with most smaller hydraulic flat tappet cams (we suggest checking with your cam manufacturer to find their requirements for the springs they recommend for use with your cam.) Click on the part for more detailed information. This part number includes a complete set of 16.

This is a labor charge for us to remove and replace valve springs, seals, locks and retainers. This labor charge must be selected in the same order as the cylinder heads, along with the new valve locks, retainers, seals and springs you want upgraded. Does not include custom shimming each spring to a specific installed height.
These inner spring locators from Comp Cams are required for use with our 145-1014 Hydraulic Roller Valve springs. They will locate the inner spring which is very close in inner diameter to the seal, and keep it from contacting the seal during use. These replace the regular spring cups which are supplied on our heads for this application. One set includes 16 pieces, enough to do one complete engine.
