Chrysler Trenton Engine Plant Tags We have a limited supply of these engine tags used by Chryslers Trenton engine production plant to identify engines that were good to ship out or needed to be returned for some reason. How cool would it be to have one of these on that newly built engine on the stand! A rare find! Includes one of each tag and attaching wires.
Engine Block Oil Passage Enlargement Drill Bit 12 Big block Mopars generally have a very good oiling system from the factory. However, one easy modification recommended by Mopar Performance is to enlarge the passages which go from the passenger side main oil galley to the main bearings. This allows extra oil to both the main and rod bearings, and only takes a few minutes to do with any hand drill. We carry the special 12" long drill bit required, which should be a standard part in any mechanic's tool box who is building high performance big block Mopar engines. Click on the "view additional images" button to see a diagram of which exact oil passages to enlarge with this drill bit.
Oil Pump Priming Shaft Our oil pump priming shafts are perfect for priming your engine before that first startup. These specially hardened steel priming shafts fit on any 3/8 in. or larger drill and will pressurize oil galleys to ensure against dry starts and ruining your engine. Don't fire up that engine without pre-lubing (priming) it thoroughly with oil and our oil pump priming shafts. Compare to Mopar Performance P4286800.
Engine Starter Plate This handy little bracket allows you to turn your engine over without having a bellhousing attached. Great for engine test stands, dyno's, an engine that is still in the car with the trans removed, or anytime you would need to bump or start the engine. Works on big blocks with 130 tooth flywheel only! Black powder coated for good looks and durability.
CNC Aluminum Distributor Plug Use this CNC machined aluminum distributor plug to seal up engines during assembly or storage. Complete with o-ring for a perfect seal.
Engine Lift Bracket Our engine lift bracket is a great way to move around engines, or install them in the vehicle with a hoist. It also serves to block off the carburetor mounting flange to keep any foreign objects out.
Damper Holding Tool This convienient little tool bolts to two of the lower pulley bolts on the damper, and allows you to hold or turn the damper/engine with a 1/2" ratchet or breaker bar. Works with flat face dampers only.
Distributor Adapter Wrench - 90 Degree - 1/2 We offer these distributor adapter wrenches. A great item for any Mopar enthusiast to have in their tool box. These feature the special 90 degree "dog leg" bend which allows you to get into that hard to reach bolt holding the distributor clamp, making distributor changes or timing adjustments super easy. The top end attaches to any standard 3/8" drive male ratchet or extention. These fit 1/2" diameter (factory type - or our 109-1508 replacement) distributor bolts only. Will not fit the smaller 12 point performance bolt heads.
Adjustable Checking Pushrod RB Shown here is our checking pushrod tool. Use this for applications with adjustable rocker arms which use the ball on the bottom end, and the cup on the top end. This is basically a 3/8" pushrod which has been cut and threaded, so that it can be screwed in and out (or adjusted) once it is fit in the engine to determine the correct length pushrod you will need for that application.
Adjustable Checking Pushrod B Shown here is our checking pushrod tool.
Comp Cams Engine Break In Oil Additive Along with the purchase of any Comp cam and lifters, we also strongly recommend using Comp's engine break in oil additive. This is it essential to make sure your cam and lifters are fully covered under Comp's warranty. It's a well known fact that, due to EPA regulations and other reasons, over the last few years oil manufacturers have removed the Zinc and other additives from their motor oil. If you try to break in a brand new cam and just add regular "off the shelf" motor oil from your local parts store, it is VERY likely you will have a failure. You must add this additive to the oil to replenish the zinc which is no longer included by the oil manufacturers. This works with synthetics, blended, and standard petroleum oils. In our own engines, we usually get a couple extra bottles to keep on the shelf and add one at every oil change. It's cheap insurance.
ARP Ultra-Torque Assembly Lube - 1.69oz Tube Whenever you order bolts, don't forget a tube of ARP assembly lubricant. ARP's new "Ultra-Torque" is a special new blend of PFTE lube which ensures the correct torque will be reached on the first pull, so there is no longer any need to "cycle" the fastener (or loosen and tighten it several times), which has been the case with ARP's regular "Moly Lube" This lube is essential to get correct torque on the head, rod and main bolts, and it doesn't hurt to put it on misc other engine bolts as well. One tube is usually enough to do 4 or 5 complete engines, so it's a good investment to keep around the shop.
Clevite Bearing Guard Assembly Lube 8oz. Clevite's "Bearing Guard" assembly lube is specially formulated with an Extreme Pressure (EP) rating to provide proper lubrication for internal engine components during assembly, and for the first crucial moments of operation after engine start-up. If you are using Clevite bearings, this is best (factory matched) assembly lube you can get. Highly recommended!
Total Seal Assembly Lubricant 5/8oz When building an engine, don't forget a packet of Total Seal's special piston ring assembly lubricant. This is essential for proper break-in and protection of the rings. One packet is enough to do one complete engine.
Comp Cams Cam and Lifter Installation Lube, 4oz Bottle Comp Cams has taken great pains to develop what they feel to be the best line of lubricants available to protect your engine before startup and during break-in. Used by professional engine builders throughout the country, their cam and lifter lube is a red tacky oil which sticks to the surface and won't bleed off. This is ideal for engines which will sit for any amount of time between initial startup and when the cam and lifters were installed and lubed. This ensures your cam and lifters have full lubrication upon startup, preventing any galling or scuffing upon first contact. One 4oz bottle is enough to do one engine.
Permatex Silicone Ultra Grey 3.5 oz. Based on our decades of experience building engines, we highly recommend coating the surface of most gaskets with Permatex Ultra Grey RTV Silicone. We've tried practically every name brand and formulation of sealers out there on the market and nothing beats Ultra Grey. Use on oil pan/windage tray gaskets, timing cover, valve covers, water neck, water pump and housing, etc. Don't forget to throw one of these in when ordering gaskets.
Permatex Blue Loctite Use our premium Permatex BLUE Loctite on all applications which need to be held in place, but are still intended to be broken loose from time to time. We always use this on certain parts of the engine which tend to come loose occaisionally due to harmonics, even when they are torqued correctly during assembly. Big Block Mopars are famous for this on torque coverter bolts, rocker arm hardware, cam sprocket bolts, etc. We highly recommend it for those applications. One small tube is usually enough to do one complete engine. Made in the USA!
Permatex Red Loctite Use our premium Permatex RED Loctite on all applications which need to be held in place near permanently, and you don't expect to need to break loose. One small tube is usually enough to do one complete engine. Made in the USA!
