Whenever you order bolts, don't forget a tube of ARP assembly lubricant. ARP's new "Ultra-Torque" is a special new blend of PFTE lube which ensures the correct torque will be reached on the first pull, so there is no longer any need to "cycle" the fastener (or loosen and tighten it several times), which has been the case with ARP's regular "Moly Lube" This lube is essential to get correct torque on the head, rod and main bolts, and it doesn't hurt to put it on misc other engine bolts as well. One tube is usually enough to do 4 or 5 complete engines, so it's a good investment to keep around the shop. CAN BE SHIPPED BY REGULAR GROUND ONLY TO U.S. ADDRESSES ONLY.
When building an engine, don't forget a bottle of Total Seal's special piston ring assembly lubricant. This is essential for proper break-in and protection of the rings.

Along with the purchase of any Comp cam and lifters, we also strongly recommend using Comp's engine break in oil additive. CAN BE SHIPPED BY REGULAR GROUND ONLY TO U.S. ADDRESSES ONLY.
Clevite's "Bearing Guard" assembly lube is specially formulated with an Extreme Pressure (EP) rating to provide proper lubrication for internal engine components during assembly, and for the first crucial moments of operation after engine start-up. If you are using Clevite bearings, this is best (factory matched) assembly lube you can get. Highly recommended! CAN BE SHIPPED BY REGULAR GROUND ONLY TO U.S. ADDRESSES ONLY.
Shown here is our checking pushrod tool. Use this for applications with adjustable rocker arms which use the ball on the bottom end, and the cup on the top end. This is basically a 3/8" pushrod which has been cut and threaded, so that it can be screwed in and out (or adjusted) once it is fit in the engine to determine the correct length pushrod you will need for that application.

Our bearing knife is a useful tool to have during engine assembly. Used for both champhering the edge of bearings (sometimes necessary for crankshafts with large fillet radiuses) as well as general deburring of sharp edges.
Our engine lift bracket is a great way to move around engines, or install them in the vehicle with a hoist. It also serves to block off the carburetor mounting flange to keep any foreign objects out.
Shown here is our super heavy duty USA made engine cradle stand. This cradle is made specifically for the big block Mopar wedge engine. It won't fit any other engine, and that's exactly the way we wanted it. Featuring a frame that's fully welded from 1 1/4" box tubing in the USA, then gloss black powder coated, this cradle is designed for shops, shipping and other heavy uses. Other "universal" type cradles designed to fit multiple engines and made overseas can't begin to hold a candle to this big block Mopar only unit. A great additionfor any shop, racer, or works great for shipping an engine block or complete crate engine. Lag screw it to your pallet or crate, and your engine won't go anywhere during travel. Also, unit collapes for easy shipping and storage. Another great 100% USA MADE part available exclusively through 440 Source at below wholesale pricing!
This book explores the leading high-performance products and machining options, so you can build a strong, reliable wedge capable of cranking out 600 to 900 hp. This authoritative and insightful volume shows you how to extract maximum performance from the 1959-1978 Mopar B- and RB-series wedge engines, covering the 383 but focusing on 400-, 413-, and 440-engines. Wedge expert Andy Finkbeiner provides exceptional depth and detail on blocks, rotating assembly, heads, valvetrain, induction, ignition system, power adders, and more. But just as important, you are shown how to select the most compatible components for a particular application. In addition, four successful engine-build packages at 600, 700, 800, and 900 hp are presented, so you have great options for your own engine build. This is the complete guide to building a bone-stock wedge into an all-conquering drag or street engine.
During a big block Mopar's lifetime, several rebuilds are typically required, and this book is an indispensable guide for the process. Veteran magazine writer Arvid Svendsen takes you through a professional-caliber rebuild of Chrysler B and RB engines. Explanatory captions accompany full-color photos to provide clear, concise instructions, so each crucial stage of the rebuild process is skillfully completed. While other books may offer a basic rebuild procedure for a common street engine, Svendsen takes the rebuild process one step further by balancing and blueprinting the engine during the rebuild, so the particular engine can compete in Stock Eliminator drag racing. As a result, you are shown how to perform a meticulous rebuild for superior performance and efficiency. Once the engine package has been completely disassembled, analyzed and evaluated, you learn how to order the best parts for your performance goals. All crucial steps of assembly are illustrated and discussed in fine detail, so any aspiring engine builder can install main bearings, crankshaft, pistons, rods, the entire valvetrain, and all other parts. With this information at hand, you will be able to confidently pull the engine from the car, disassemble the long block, inspect all components, guide machine work, select the optimal parts, assemble the complete engine, and conduct a final shake-down of the engine. When you fire up your engine for the first time, you will have the satisfaction of having soundly rebuilt an engine that performs at its best.
