Clevite 77 is the standard by which all other bearings are judged. Clevite was the original OEM supplier Chrysler used for engine bearings back when our Mopars were rolling off the assembly line, and now 40 years later there is no reason to settle for any less. Clevite is now owned by the Dana Corporation (yes, the same Dana that made the famous rear ends for our Mopars,) and they have been proven countless times in nearly every form of motorsports since they were first introduced in 1929. All the Clevite bearings we sell are still AMERICAN MADE in the good ol' USA!
"RB" (413/426/440) Main Bearings / Size: STD / Series: V / Material: VP-3 / Oversized Fillet Champher: YES / Oil Groove: Half .150" The "V" series were originally manufactured by the Vandervell company in England, Clevite bought Vandervell and is now distributing their bearings under the Clevite name as the "V" series. We feel the "V" series are a great choice for performance bearings. "V" series have found their way into nearly every form of motorsports with virtually no problems. These bearings are still a tri metal bearing, however they use a lead indium overlay instead of the babitt in the above bearings. Lead Indium has amazing properties. It has a super low surface friction coefficient or lubricity, meaning wear at startup before the engine can develop oil pressure is greatly reduced. It can withstand and operate at higher temperatures for longer periods of time. It will resist flaking and peeling under extreme loads better than any other bearing. It has the highest resistance to corrosion of any bearing material, and it does all this while still having unsurpassed properties of embeddability, conformability and fatigue strength. And the best part is just because these perform so exceptionally in a racing environment, there is no reason they can't be used with equal success in a street car or in milder performance engines as well.
Since there are currently no Champhered "B" engine main bearings on the market from ANY bearing manufacturer, we've taken our standard Clevite MS-876P "B" engine main bearings and run them through a special fixure we've designed on our lathe to fully champher them, just like Clevite's performance bearings. Another solution to an age old big block Mopar problem, provided exclusively by 440 Source.
"B" (361/383/400) Main Bearings / Size: STD / Series: P / Material: TM-77 / Oversized Fillet Champher: NO / Oil Groove: Full .100" / Clevite's P series are the original staple bearing. They start with a hardened steel back for strength and support. Over that is a cast copper lead lining to provide the durability and support to withstand the loads of engine operation. Then a nickel plating is applied to prevent interaction between the copper lead and the final layer, a strong, extra thin (.001" or less) electroplated overlay of babbitt.

Size: STD / Series: H / Material: TM-77 / Journal Size: 2.750" (RB Engine) / Oversized Fillet Clearance Champher: YES / Oil Groove: Full .100" / THESE FIT 1974-79 RB (440) blocks only. WILL NOT FIT 1973 and earlier engines. Originally developed for Nascar racing, H series are made of TM-77 material, however they are not flash plated with the lead/tin apparently in an effort to help them seat better. They also have enlarged champhers to help them clear bigger crankshaft fillets. They also have a medium level of eccentricity. A good overall performance bearing.
Clevite's "Bearing Guard" assembly lube is specially formulated with an Extreme Pressure (EP) rating to provide proper lubrication for internal engine components during assembly, and for the first crucial moments of operation after engine start-up. If you are using Clevite bearings, this is best (factory matched) assembly lube you can get. Highly recommended! CAN BE SHIPPED BY REGULAR GROUND ONLY TO U.S. ADDRESSES ONLY.
