Our Performance 12 point bolt kits are a nice looking option that features grade 8 strength, black oxide coating, and with a price that doesn't break the bank. For those who prefer the flexibility of using bolts to attach the starter instead of the factory stud setup. This is usually better for performance engines with headers that require additional manuverability to get the starter around the header tubes, and then bolt it in once positioned in place. Custom matching, small diameter washers are also included with this kit.
Shown here is our Starter attachment bolt kit. This includes everything you need to attach the starter just like the factory did. It includes the stud that threads into the upper attachment hole of the transmission bellhousing and guides the starter into place. Also includes the lockwasher, nut and special flanged bolt for the bottom attachment hole. These are BRAND NEW. Highly recommended when buying our lightweight mini starters.
Whenever you order bolts, don't forget a tube of ARP assembly lubricant. ARP's new "Ultra-Torque" is a special new blend of PFTE lube which ensures the correct torque will be reached on the first pull, so there is no longer any need to "cycle" the fastener (or loosen and tighten it several times), which has been the case with ARP's regular "Moly Lube" This lube is essential to get correct torque on the head, rod and main bolts, and it doesn't hurt to put it on misc other engine bolts as well. One tube is usually enough to do 4 or 5 complete engines, so it's a good investment to keep around the shop.
Use our premium Permatex BLUE Loctite on all applications which need to be held in place, but are still intended to be broken loose from time to time. We always use this on certain parts of the engine which tend to come loose occaisionally due to harmonics, even when they are torqued correctly during assembly. Big Block Mopars are famous for this on torque coverter bolts, rocker arm hardware, cam sprocket bolts, etc. We highly recommend it for those applications. One small tube is usually enough to do one complete engine. Made in the USA!
