Howards Cams Hydraulic Roller Retrofit Cam 251/257 - .600

This is our larger option from Howards Cams. This cam works great for the 500 inch and larger engines running a good flowing (325+ CFM) head such as our CNC Stealth heads or Trick Flows. This cam features a very generous .600" lift while keeping the duration at just 251 on the intake and 257 on the exhaust (both at .050") Having such high lift with relatively mild duration means the lobes on this cam are very aggressive, lifting the valves quickly, holding them open longer, and then closing them quickly. This is known as "area under the curve" and is what separates a really good power producing lobe design from a "lazy" lobe which has lots of duration and not much lift. This one really lets the more serious builds reach their potential, while still having enough low end for some street use. These are ground on a 110 degree lobe separation angle. We'd use about a 3500 stall, and some decent rear end gears (3.55-4.10 for the street,) and a minimum of 10:1 compression.
